Outstanding season for Fleetwood swim team

The Fleetwood Area Swim Team had another outstanding season. For the second year in a row the Fleetwood Area Tiger Sharks are the Berks County Swimming Association’s Arctic Division champions with an undefeated record of 5-0.

This is the second year that the Tiger Sharks have had a an undefeated season, winning six meets in 2011. Coach Bob Heebner and his assistant Rachel Stump led the team to the great season.

The Fleetwood Area Swim Team started the season on June 25 with a decisive victory against The West Reading Waves, 257-156. The Tiger Sharks met with Leesport Swim team next and thrilled the home town crowd with a 249-148 victory.

Week three brought Womelsdorf to Fleetwood and the 248-191 victory. Then Fleetwood went on the road for week four to the Robesonia pool and a 266-153 victory.

The last dual meet was against the across town rivals The Topton Torpedoes with a score of 249-171.
