Kutztown photographer Matt Becker shows at Firefly Bookstore

Firefly Bookstore in Kutztown hosts a reception on Friday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m.in a public showing of Matt Becker’s photographic work in their gallery.

Presenting a selection of his current pieces, M.D. Becker is a self taught photographer who works and lives in Kutztown. His primary subjects are old buildings, barns and landscapes. Through his use of colors he creates a juxtaposition of a place that seems familiar, but only exists in the mind of the imaginer. He is a Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen member and has recently been featured in the “Home at Last” exhibit in the Guild of Craftsmen’s Lancaster gallery.

The Guild of Craftsmen were recently written up in the Lancaster New Era, where M.D. Becker’s work was featured, saying “take note of the works of Kutztown’s Matt Becker, whose dreamlike photographs resemble paintings.” (September 7th, 2012).

Firefly Bookstore invitesthe community to the exhibit which will be available for viewing through Oct. 31.
