A fight between two Kutztown High School students sent one to the hospital on Oct. 2.
The fight occurred at about 2:35 p.m. between two male juveniles, ages 14 and 15; because the students are minors police could not release names, said Kutztown Police Chief Craig Summers.
“During gym class one student punched another, then a little bit later the student who got punched pushed the other into a glass trophy type case,” said Summers.
The student pushed into the glass was taken to the hospital with lacerations to his arms and back.
“The student who got punched had a cut around his eye, not sure if it was from being hit or from when he pushed the other student into the glass,” he said.
Charges are pending, after conferring with the District Attorney’s office, said Summers.
When asked if fights at the high school are becoming more common, Summers said no they are not and confirmed that parents need not be concerned.
