Hurricane Sandy delayed Rockland Township resident Dorothy Kline’s 80th birthday on Monday, Oct. 29, but a few days later she awoke to find Teddy bears in her yard.
“My Grandmother turned 80 on Monday, and despite the storm, her birthday was special just the same,” her granddaughter Renee Kline told The Patriot on Thursday, Nov. 1. “It was just delayed a little bit.”
To celebrate, about 30 Teddy bears were placed in her yard.
Her son, Brian Kline, had the bears put there for her because she LOVES Teddy bears, said Renee.
“The bears were put there on Wednesday, Oct. 31, really early so when she woke up she saw them. She was really surprised and happy.”
There was also a sign that said, “80 bear hugs for Mom’s 80th birthday! Happy Birthday!” and, “Surprise, Mom! Your loving family.”
“My Grandfather woke her up to see them in the yard. A very happy thing to wake up to,” said Renee.
