Charles Kristofer Scanzello at his Eagle Scout Award Ceremony in Chambersburg.
He is the son of Cindy and Mark Charles Scanzello, a graduate of Kutztown High School, and grandson of Charles and Dr. Angela Scanzello of Kutztown. Both Mark and Cindy teach at Chambersburg High School.
His eagle project was the development of a poetry/nature hiking trail on the property of the Fulton Farm for Sustainable Agriculture in Chambersburg. He supervised and helped to clear the quest trail and constructed and placed poetry stations along it describing the flora and fauna.
Someday Charlie wants to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. He is planning to study art/architecture or communication design at either Syracuse University or Penn State University.
In addition to becoming an Eagle Scout, Charlie is the recipient of the prestigious Lenfest Scholarship to pursue a program of his choice at a college or university of his choice. He will be graduating from Chambersburg High School in June.
A musician, he plays both the trombone and the cello. In addition to music, his interests include hiking, tennis, and art.
