The Fleetwood High School boys’ basketball team got the season underway by participating in the Phoenixville Tip-Off Tournament on Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8. The Tigers lost both games to finish in fourth place.
In the opener, The Tigers took on host Phoenixville in a tight battle. The Phantoms used a 19-point third quarter to defeat the Tigers, 55-46.
Kyle Flannery scored 11 points to lead the Fleetwood offense while Jeff Estima scored eight and Stephen Hilborn scored seven.
The loss sent the Tigers to the consolation game on Saturday to take on Conestoga. Fleetwood struggled from the beginning of the game as Conestoga scored 41 first half points and defeated the Tigers, 63-24.
Brian Schumacher and Clay Weidenmoyer each had six points to lead the Fleetwood offense while Estima chipped in with five points.
