Jeep collides with oncoming tanker on 222 in Maxatawny, both drivers injured with one in critical condition

Atwo-vehicle crash on Route 222, between Church Road and Grim Road, Maxatawny Township, injured both drivers, leaving one in critical condition on Monday morning, Jan. 7, at 7:10 a.m.

Lisa Walker, 43, Kutztown, was traveling northbound on Route 222 when Walker traveled into the oncoming lane and her 2002 Jeep Cherokee struck a southbound 2007 Peterbilt Truck Tractor and 2001 Heil Tank Trailer, according to state police. Mitchell Brenner, 55, Sinking Spring, was driving the truck.

Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Walker was in critical condition. Both were wearing seat belts.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.
