Kutztown artist Doris Sell exhibits at Firefly Bookstore

Kutztown native and artist Doris Sell is showing at Firefly Bookstore in Kutztown for the first time, exhibiting her work of landscapes and still-life during the month of January.

Doris has been the featured artist in the RAAC “Meet the Artist” series, the Highlands Invitational Show, the Kutztown Arts Council Show and the Kutztown Community Library. She is associated with the Berks Art Alliance and the Berks County Arts Council.

“Creating a piece of art gives me a great sense of accomplishment, putting all the elements together into a satisfying composition.”

Doris works primarily in watercolor and acrylic.

“My interest in art began in my early school years. I enrolled in the KU Fine Arts Department at the age of 42 in order to nurture and develop my art experience.”

She received her BFA in painting in 1981.

Sell has won awards at the Penn State Nittany Lion Shows and the Berks Art Alliance shows at the Reading Public Museum. Her work has been purchased by corporations, banks, universities and by numerous private individuals.

Firefly invites the public to see the pieces through January.
