The Fleetwood High School Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the Regional Leadership Conference hosted at Reading Area Community College, Dec. 19.
During the conference, the 64 members in the Fleetwood Chapter of FBLA competed against 10 other schools from Berks County in more than 50 event categories.
A total of 47 members received outstanding recognition in their competitive events. At the conference, Kayln Hess was also elected as the 2013 – 2014 Regional President and the Fleetwood Chapter was named the Outstanding Chapter in Berks County.
Of the winning delegation, 28 students have qualified to represent Fleetwood FBLA at the State Leadership Conference held April 14 – 17, 2013 in Hershey, PA. In addition to those students, a few additional students have also qualified to attend the State Leadership Conference through pre-judged state only events. Those students are: the team of Kayln Hess, Kaelin Fedora, and Kate Newcomb for their American Enterprise Project; and the team of Krista Witman, Elizabeth Rothenberger, and Piper O’Keefe for the Community Service Project.
All of the qualifying students are currently fundraising and are looking for sponsors in order to pay for their trip to the state competition.
